The Garages
The Garages (bandcamp) are an online band with an indefinite number of members (definitely more than 20, though) that spawned out of the Blaseball fandom and the restlessness of dozens of musicians, both aspiring and current, stuck at home amid the pandemic lockdowns.
I first had the honor of playing with the Garages on the first “AWAY GAMES” and shortly after “BLATTLE OF THE BLANDS”, the second album in the Away Games series, was invited to help out in an administrative–and–production capacity.
Some of my prouder achievements with the Garages are:
- “BLATTLE OF THE BLANDS”, which features two songs of my own (bury our light and Randall Marijuana Memorial Cat Café) as well as two–and–a–half further songs I produced (Let’s Go Wild Low, Where Is Your Spirit, and the backing track for Take The Mound!)
- Playing bass on the incredibly fun hell’s game.
- Lead organization, production, and mastering for Away Games 4, “REUNION TOUR”, along with Shadowed (Without You), the (as of writing this) last opportunity I had to work with the incredible amadis.
- Numerous “live” shows (YouTube links):
- THE GARAGES CAN’T PLAY LIVE: bass on nut economy and a warning.
- RIV: bass on park it and sun 2.
- DESERT BUS 2021: bass on solar eclipse.
- UNDERGROUND: bass on consumerist, traitor’s lament.
- COYOTE WALL X THE GARAGES @ DESERT BUS 2022: co–lead on organization, bass on vanessa tables.
- Production for numerous albums.
- Album art for:
- Regular collaborations with the incredible amadis, who sang on …Cat Café, Shadowed (Without You), and our cover of forbidden knowledge (originally by Vigilant Baker), and sang on and wrote Let’s Go Wild Low and Where Is Your Spirit.
- Getting to write and perform The Final Song The Garages Would Play Live as a grand goodbye to everything we’ve accomplished.
